Our Club

Soo Pickleball is run fully by VOLUNTEERS! The fees you are charged for our events are put back into the rent we are charged for facilities, equipment repair, supplies and upkeep. The club was started in the Sault May 2019 to give us a collective voice, share information and connect to play. Our 2021 GOALS were to grow the sport and lobby for dedicated indoor and outdoor courts GOALS MET! We went from 10 - 200 members, Nov 4, 2021 ribbon cutting at Elliott Field - 8 dedicated outdoor public courts! Our 2022 GOALS were to double our membership, offer lessons, clinics, tournaments, get Seniors teaching their grandchildren, lobby city for indoor courts. GOALS MET! 416 members, 9 instructors certified, 100 beginners taught, clinics, tournaments held, city working on a community indoor court facility.

Oct 15, 2022 we were proud to become a recognized Affiliate Club of Pickleball Canada and Pickleball Ontario. We were proud to jointly host the Pickleball Ontario Championship Series Tournament in the summer of 2023! 

2024 and we have over 700 Soo Pickleball members! We continue teaching new Beginner Lessons, we organize Ladders and Round Robins in the outdoor Season, as well as Tournaments.

Fall 2024, we were excited to offer our own private indoor facility at Tech Gym, running 5am-11pm daily October - April! We also offer pickleball indoors at one our local schools 3 nights per week.

Soo Pickleball has over 700 members! We are an affiliate of both Pickleball Canada and Pickleball Ontario! Soo Pickleball requires all our members to have an ANNUAL Membership through Pickleball Canada in order to take part in any of our activities. For only $25/year, $10 goes to Pickleball Canada, $10 to Pickleball Ontario, and $5 to Soo Pickleball to help grow the sport! It also covers our players with insurance.

We were thrilled to see such a strong turnout from our membership at our Annual General Meeting held on May 27th, 2026, demonstrating the passion and commitment that continues to make our club such a vibrant and welcoming community.
